A lovely little slice of vintage style soul, Good Things has a few stand out tracks, but doesn’t really offer enough to elevate the album towards excellence. Blacc’s voice is silky smooth throughout and the songwriting is solid enough, but can meander a little in places. With the quality of his voice, one would hope that this is a stepping stone towards better, and perhaps more inventive, things. With the above being said however, if you want a nice easy selection of summery soul tunes to while away a lazy afternoon in the garden with a beer, this could be just the tonic.
